Schwab Trust Bank Target Date Trusts
Schwab Trust Bank Target Date Trusts, with the exception of the Schwab Managed Retirement Trust Income Trust*, seek to provide total return for investors at or nearing specific target retirement dates. The Trusts are offered in vintages in five-year increments between 2010 and 2065 and have been established solely for qualified plans and certain other retirement trusts.
Schwab offers two types of target date trusts.
-
Blend: Schwab Managed Retirement Trusts™ (SMRT)
The SMRTs employ a blend of active and passive strategies, with the goal of providing total return for investors at or near a particular target retirement date. There is also the SMRT Income Trust* for individuals in or near retirement.
-
Passive: Schwab Indexed Retirement Trusts™ (SIRT)
The SIRTs primarily employ passive strategies, seeking to provide total return for investors at or near a particular target retirement date.
